The Global Cup is considered as the World Championship in volleyball. And it begins in St. George, Utah this October 13th. This is an event that happens every 2years. And the previous competition saw Canada with a strong finish at its last event. They defeated Poland for the Bronze. USA got the gold and Russia got the silver. This year, it gets a bit more exciting as the teams from Brazil, Germany, Russia, Canada and USA prepare for battle. Canada’s team has 7 former National Team members and Olympians, still capable of playing at its highest level. Their coaches have high expectations from them. And hopes to get passed the bronze medal it got from the last competition. Some of the team members from Canada are, Don Saxton,Larry Plenert, Keith Gallicano, Tom Jones, Bernard Pare, Rich McDonald, Brian Gamborg, Paul Gratton, John Paulsen, Don Michalski, Dan Paulson and John Markwart.
